The IMS B408 implements the drawing pad image storage parts of a medium to high performance graphics system. It incorporates a powerful 32-bit microprocessor with on-chip floating point processor, 1 Mbyte of workspace RAM and 1.25 Mbyte of display RAM accessible to the processor and dual ported to the pixel port. The pixel port is capable of sustaining continuous data transmission at up to 100Mbytes/s, independently of the processor and under control of an autonomous address generator. The IMS B408 supports both interlaced and non-interlaced displays of arbitrary resolution up to 1024x768 pixels. Up to 12 IMS B408s may be used in conjunction with a single IMS B409.
