The Ultra/EISA provides 10 TRAM slots on a full-sized EISA board. As a Host System Interface, the Ultra/EISA interface and TRAM holder provides four external TLINKs through a 32X32 cross bar connection between the 16-bit EISA interface, the TRAM sites, and the external TLINKs. Standard TRAMs (Transputer Modules) may be placed on the board and included in any arbitrary topology. This board is used primarily in EISA-based workstations such as the HP 9000, some Alpha workstations and in EISA-based PC's.
